Basingstoke Masters Fast Water Meet 1998 Sunday l6th March 1998 Information for Competitors

1. The venue is the Sports Centre, Basingstoke. The pool is located in the centre of Basingstoke, adjacent to the multi storey car park. Maps will be sent with entry cards to all accepted entrants. 2. The Centre offers a 6 lane, 25 metre pool with anti-turbulence lane ropes. Electronic timing will be used. 3. The water depth is 1.8m at the deep end and l.Om at the shallow end. All events with the exception of the 25m sprints will start at the deep end. Starting blocks will NOT be used for the 25 sprints or relay take-overs at the shallow end oE the pool. 4. Events will be swum in two sessions: Session Events Warm-Up First Event Cards Must be Posted by Morning 1-14 9:15-10:00 10:00 9:30 Afternoon 15-28 1:15-2:00 2:00 1:30 4. All ages are as at 3lst December 1998. 5. Combined ages for relay events must not be less than 140 years/200 years as indicated. The 140 years and 200 years relay events may be swum together; do not enter the same swimmers in both events. 6. Entries must be submitted on the forms provided (or photocopies), one form per competitor or team (for the team events). 7. All entries must be received by the closing date, 20th February 1997. Entries received after that date may be aceepted at the discretion of the promoter. Entries must be accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope for the return of entry cards. 8. There is a limit of 1200 entries for the meet. In the event that more entries are received than can be accepted, entries will bc processed strictly on a first-come first-served basis. 9. The six fastest swimmers in each of the yougest four age groups will be seeded together in the last four heats. All other entrants will be arranged into heats according to submitted entry times. Swimmers who do not submit an entry time will swim first. 10. All events will be decided on the "Heat Declared Winner" system. Medals will be presented to the first, second and third placed swimmer in each age group. 11. A trophy will be presented to the best visiting club, based on five points for each first place, four points for each second place, three points for each third place and one point for every other swim. 12. Complete results sheets will be available by post on request, price £2.00. Individual results sheets will be available price 10p. Copies of results will be sent free of charge to all clubs with 10 or more individual entrants, and will be posted on the Internet.
