Masters' Open Meet - 11th July, 1998

Conditions of Entry

1. The competition will be swum under ASA Laws.

2. Location - Kingsmead Leisure Centre, Kingsmead Road, Canterbury.

3. The Pool is 25 metres long with 6 lanes. There are anti-wave lane lines.

4. There will be two sessions as shown on the attached programme of events. Warm-up is 45 minutes before each session start time. No entry to the Poolside before 13.00 hours. First session warm-up 13.15 for 14.00 hours start. Second session a 17.15 warm-up for 18.00 hours start.

5. Age Groups:

		   A - 25/29   B - 30/34    C - 35/39   D - 40/44
                   E - 45/49   F - 50/54    G - 55/59   H - 60/64
                   J - 65/69   K - 70/74    L - 75/79   M - 80 +

All ages are as at 31st December, 1998 except Group A where competitors must be 25 years of age in the year of competition.

7. Entry Cards are to be posted in the appropriate entry box at least 20 minutes before the START of each session. FAILURE to do so may result in only being allowed to swim in the event if there is an empty lane in one of the early heats.

8. Swimmers in the frst two events of each session should report to the Whips Table and collect their cards. All competitors must Collect their Cards at least 15 minutes before the start of any event in which they are swimming from the Whips Table in the Beach Pool Area.

9. Awards will be made to the first three placed swimmers in each AGE GROUP for each event.

10. The Ken Stilwell Trophy will be awarded at the end of the Meet to the Club scoring the most points on the basis of Gold = 3 points, Silver = 2 points, Bronze =1 point.

11. Admission for spectators is by Programme only. Programmes will be available at a cost of £2.00 each and cover both sessions. Children under 14 years admitted free.

12. Car Parking - ample car parking is available either at the pool or in the Long Stay Car Park (behind Sainsburys) turn at the Roundabout (Coach Park one) just by the Leisure Centre. There is a foot bridge across the river from this car park into the back of the Leisure Centre.

13. Refreshments - the Centre Cafeteria will be open throughout the day selling a good selection of food and drinks at very reasonable prices.

14. Registration - to comply with ASA law all competitors must be registered and registration numbers submitted. The Promoters reserve the right to check swimmers registration cards at the gala.

15. Result Sheets will be displayed during the sessions as the events progress. A full set of results can be purchased for £1 on completion of an addressed envelope, available on the table in the entrance hall and these will be posted during the following week.

16. Swim Meet entries will be managed on a computer. By submitting entries consent is given as required under the Data Protection Act 1984, to the holding of personal information on a computer. Personal data handled, such as name, club membership will be made public during the meet.

17. Entry Fees - £2.00 for each Individual Event; £4.00 for each Team Event.

18. Entries should be made on the forms provided (photocopies accepted) One form per swimmer. Males and Females on appropriate form - events are listed in programme order. Team entries should be submitted on the special Team Entry form. Please submit times for 25 metre pools. Where no time is submitted you will be placed immediately before the slowest time submitted on the start list.

City of Canterbury reserves the right to restrict entries.

19. Closing Date for entries - Midnight on Saturday 30th May, 1998.

20. Swim Shop - Costumes and kit will be available throughout the day at very reasonable prices.
