Chester Masters Tounament

Visitors' Guide

Things to See

Chester is an ancient walled city, with parts going back to the times of the Roman invasion.

The centre of Chester is well worth a visit. There is a Roman Amphitheatre, a 900-year old Cathedral and a medieval atmosphere with cobbled roads and half-timbered buildings. In the centre, built on the old city walls, there is the Eastgate Clock.

At this time of year (Mid-November), the shops are decked out for Christmas Shopping.

Things to Do

Also there are pleasant walks along the River Dee, with its Old Dee Bridge, newer (pedestrian) suspension bridge. There are sportsmen rowing and pleasure cruises to be taken (illuminated after dark).

If you have a spare hour or two, you can walk round (on top of) the city walls.
