Aylesbury Gala results - 7th February 2004

As ever, this gala is a very enjoyable and somewhat unusual one as it is predominantly relays and set in a very good pool. Seven teams were invited but two dropped out prior to the event and one did not turn up on the night which left CMK A, CMK B, Aylesbury & ourselves (Bedsport).

The overall result was

1. CMK A 208 pts.

2. Aylesbury 168pts.

3. CMK B 149pts.

4. Bedsport 142pts.

Strangely points were given as 6,5,4,3. We had two DQs and missed out on 11 points which would have easily raised us one place.

There was a competition amongst our swimmers to see who got the fastest reaction time to the start but I am not sure who did best on that - anyone else know ?

Thanks very much to Derek Ibbotson and Stuart Hastings for coming along as officials and for their valiant efforts in getting split times for the relays as well as doing all the judging jobs between them !
