Aylesbury Relay Gala, 8 Feb 2003

 
Thanks to all of you who swam for us. I was overwhelmed with the response to my plea for swimmers and nobody dropped out ! A great relief as reworking a relay gala can be a bit of a nightmare. We had a number of first time (for Beds Masters) swimmers; Maz Gogan & Andrea Minor who would be very useful to us in the other galas in the older ladies age groups, Diane Brinkler stepped in at the last minute to do 2 lengths fly, Sarah Wisson. Emily Firth, Graeme Downes & Barry Gibson from Biggleswade, Brian Harvey from Dunstable, and Anthony Jessup (my eldest son). In addition we had a lot of new to Beds Masters swimmers in the 19-24 category; Kelly Brinkler, Kim Hyde, Andrew Ibbotson, David Jessup (my youngest son) & Peter Hastings. 
 
Marcel Scholten broke midland district record on the 50m free and Dave Cartledge on the 50 fly - congratulations
 
NB I brought back a dark blue Marks & Spencer polo top which had been left behind - anyone claim it ?
 
The pool was superb - 8 lanes with electronic timing including start reaction times, and plenty of  seating with easy access to the pool. Aylesbury were excellent hosts. The result was,
