Aylesbury Gala Result- 9th February 2002.

4 teams took part in this very enjoyable event which was organised by Jo Redwood of Aylesbury Masters. Two other teams had to drop out but the gala had a good atmosphere. We came third. The mixture of relays and individual events was quite hectic and I seemed to be often congratulating swimmers as they got out of the water and directing them to get ready for their next event immediately ! Many thanks to Jeanette Ward's two daughters who did the time keeping which was invaluable as it meant I could focus completely on organising the swimmers which was important with this sort of program. They also did an excellent job of getting the relay splits which was quite difficult as they were one length relays and judging the correct stopping time for the far end was very difficult. I attach the times for the various events and an analysis of the placings - they are as Excel & HTML (the latter is in case you don't have Excel). This event was swum as two age groups; 19-34, 35+. It was nice to welcome four swimmers who will be masters in a few years (i.e. <25) Alison Sedgwick, Allister Dawes, Terry Marshall & Michael Outtram, as well as some new 'older hands' Chris Marshall, Claire Tucker and Paula Heywood. The venue was the new pool in Aylesbury which is excellent and has a good blend of serious and recreation swimming facilities.

The overall result was,
