BEDFORDSHIRE ASA
Conditions for County Masters Records
1. ASA Laws and ASA Technical Rules as applied to English Records shall apply.
2. Separate lists of Masters individual swimming records for both long and short course shall be
maintained (incorporating the 18-24 age group and all masters groups from 25-29 and upwards).
3. To claim a record a swimmer must be competing in a recognised Masters competition in either a
25m or 50m pool and have reached the age of 18 years by the day of the swim, otherwise age as
at 31 December shall apply.
4. To claim a record for an individual event the swimmer must have ASA Category 2 membership,
be a bona fide member of a club affiliated to Bedfordshire ASA and must be swimming in the
name of one of the following:
• that club
• Bedfordshire ASA .
5. A list of 4x50m Masters Team records for Men, Women and Mixed shall be maintained
(incorporating the 72+ age group and all masters groups from 100 – 119 and upwards). The team
must be competing in the name of an affiliated club to the County and all members of the team
must be bona fide members of that club.
6. Two ASA Officials shall be sufficient when using hand held watches.
7. ASA Technical Rules shall be applied to decide the official time.
8. All records must be applied for on the official form obtainable online at www.bedscountyasa.com
or from the Masters Records Officer. Application shall be made within 28 days of the performance.
9. All claims must provide evidence of the race result. Where the official results are not published
on the internet a copy of the results and any other supporting documentary evidence should
support all claims.
10. If the record is set at an event when AOE is not in use the claim form should be certified as
correct by the lead referee.
11. All records are subject to scrutiny by the Records Officer and are subject to ratification by the
Bedfordshire ASA Executive.
12. A list of current Masters Records will be published on the Bedfordshire ASA web site which will
be updated to show all changes.
